Community description:A place for discussions about polyamory
This is a place for the discussion of polyamory. Polyamory means having more than one love at once. This refers to being open to being involved with more than one person at the same time. A precise definition of polyamory is tricky as it can mean different things to different people, but for most people it tends to mean multiple romantic relationships at the same time with the people involved knowing that you are also involved with other people.

This community is not marked as adult, because being poly is not something that only happens to adults. Sexuality and orientation can strongly affect teenagers. However, because this community is not marked as adult, it is important that if your post contains topics less appropriate for minors that you mark your post as containing adult content.

Beyond that, be civil. Don't spam. Don't delete content because that's really annoying. If you have a question about whether or not something is okay ask first.

What polyamory is not is cheating. Nor is it an excuse to cheat. If you are involved with multiple people and one or more of them thinks you are in an exclusive relationship, then you are not likely to find much sympathy here. Being poly is not an excuse to lie.

Polyamory is about individuals making agreements with each other for what kinds of relationships they want to have and then keeping to those agreements until they negotiate modifying them. It's about choice. Please remember that what is right for you is not right for everyone.

You don't have to be poly to participate in this community. You just need to be civil and try to respect that other people are different. And you need to do that even if you are poly.
